Londra Luton

Luton is 35 miles north west of London´s city centre. Ryanair offers daily flights between Luton Airport and Girona Airport.

Positives

Ryanair is a budget airline offering very reasonable prices. The flights run daily to and from Girona Airport. London Luton has a range of travel options on offer, from frequent buses to the centre with stops on the way, to their direct train in London´s St. Pancras. Luton is closer to London´s centre than Stansted, and the train only takes 25 minutes (after a short shuttle service to Luton Parkway). Girona Airport is well connected to Barcelona and the Costa Brava area during the day.

There are four bus companies operating at Luton Airport. Unlike Stansted, two of these companies, easybus and Green Line, run a 24-hour service between the airport and Central London. The easybus tickets are cheap - as little as 2 pounds each way. Terravision also goes to Central London but its last bus is at 1am. National Express operates services to cities outside London and other airports, its last buses leaving before midnight. The Midland Mainline also runs trains from the airport to the East Midlands and Yorkshire.

Negatives

Be careful with your luggage with Ryanair, as they charge high rates for extra luggage, which at the moment stands at 15 euros per extra kg. Please see our Companies section for more information on their policies. The flight from Girona Airport to Luton Airport only flies late at night (every day except Sunday), arriving into Luton around 11.30pm. You won´t find much public transport running later than midnight and taxis are very expensive. A good alternative would be flying to Stansted instead, as they have more than one flight per day, and they arrive earlier than the Luton flights.
